What Separates us from other WF groups.

We acknowledge the existence of other world federalist movements. Still, we found it relevant to create United Voices to participate in this ambitious and Noble project. Allow us to define what United Voices brings to the cosmopolitical movement.

What sets us apart :

We believe that the best way to achieve world federation is through a common human identity based on a core set of inalienable rights. 

The same way loyalty to one’s family should not be an obstacle to loyalty towards one’s nation, loyalty to one’s nation should not be an obstacle to loyalty towards mankind. We have ethical obligations to all humans, not just those in our immediate community - because we share a common global identity as members of the human species. Yes, a world federation ought to embody the values of democracy, human rights and human dignity, perpetual peace, and equality. But without the symbolic value of a common identity, we will not achieve a union.

Thus, United Voices emphasize the cultivation and the promotion of human identity for an equal and peaceful world. Being a citizen of the world entails responsibilities ; to oppose hate in all of its forms, to defend justice for all, and cooperate for a better future. We believe it is an error to build a world federation through the ideas of a ‘‘constellation of peoples’’, or a ‘‘union of republics’’. Humanity is not only a constellation of many groups, Humanity is also a single global community - united by history and destiny.
